About Lenoir County Early College High School
Lenoir County Early College High School opened its doors in August of 2007, on the campus of Lenoir Community College. Our school, in partnership with Lenoir Community College, offers students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and a 2 year degree or transferable credit in 5 years. Students can work towards a transferable degree which will allow students to enter most public institutions of higher learning as a junior. Students can also work towards an applied science degree which will give them employable skills in areas such as Business Administration, Medical Office Administration, Early Childhood Education, Computer Engineering Technology and many more. We are able to offer students many academic options while providing support.
Our classroom sizes are typically 18 students or less. Teachers have the opportunity to give students one-on-one attention as needed to ensure they are understanding material. We also have after school tutoring available 3 days a week and Lenoir Community College offers free tutoring for most college courses. In addition, we also have some great support staff, which include a counselor and liaison to also provide advising, academic, and personal support to students.
Our school is much like a family and very diverse. We accept students from all four public middle schools in Lenoir county, local private and charter schools, as well as home-schooled students. We are truly a county school.
